Information and communications technology (ICT) applications provider Huawei has established two new open TD-LTE IOT (Interoperability Testing) labs in Xi'an and Shenzhen of China.

The open Interoperability Testing labs are built to create an open and LTE ecosystem and advance TD-LTE maturation, commercialisation through cooperation between industry partners like device and chipset manufacturers, test equipment companies and other companies.

Huawei's IOT labs will focus on LTE applications for voice, multi-mode roaming and multi-mode smartphones in collaboration with industry partners, the company said.

The IOT lab in Xi'an can conduct interoperability testing between chipsets and network systems, devices and network systems. The lab's device test environment has the capability to support tests on devices from five different manufacturers simultaneously.

It can also perform tests between multiple systems, including GSM/WCDMA/CDMA/TD-SCDMA/LTE TDD/FDD and using mainstream TD-LTE bands (1.9, 2.3, 2.6 and 3.5GHz).

The Shenzhen IOT lab will focus on authentication and verifying network performance with different technologies and applications as well as test Voice, video, LCS (Location Services) and other end-to-end applications.
